rigid coupling, type 0707.
rigid coupling, type 07 >victaulic groove system<
Zero-Flex® rigid coupling
Victaulic No. 07
These rigid couplings produce a rigid connection that does not permit any expansion, contraction,
or linear motion.
The couplings position the ends of the pipe so that a defined gap is created there that should be
taken into account during planning and assembly (see the table below).
Rigid couplings produce a rigid connection that is not desirable for riser cables, control rooms,
and other areas in which flexibility is not wanted.
Due to the unique design with beveled fitting surfaces, the fixed 07 Zero-Flex® model couplings
can be adapted to the tolerances of rolled or milled grooved pipes andensures a force-fitted and
form-fitted connection of the pipe that can resist rotating as well as bending forces.
With the wider spring part, it is possible to cover a larger area of the groove.
The 07 model couplings are, depending on the size, are designed for a nominal pressure of
up to 750 psi/5175 kPa and for pipe systems from 1 – 12”/25 – 300 mm .
Fixed couplings ensure valve connections are rigidly mounted in machine rooms, fire protection
systems, and for long, straight sections of piping.
Due to the design with the beveled fitting surfaces, you only need to remove one screw/nut
and join the two halves of the housing over the seal for assembly.
This reduces the number of components needed for assembly as well as simplifies
and speeds up installation.
Material specifications
Housing:
Cast iron according to ASTM A-536, Class 65-45-12.
Cast iron according to ASTM A-395, Class 65-45-15 is available on request.
Coating on the housing: Orange painted.
• Optional: Hot galvanized and others
Seal:
• Class „E“ EPDM
EPDM (colored green). Temperature range –30°F to +230°F /–34°C to +110°C.
Recommended for warm water pipes in the specified temperature range as well as for
a series diluted acids, oil-free air, and many chemicals. UL-approved according to ANSI/NSF 61
for cold (+86°F/+30°C) and warm (+180°F/+82°C) drinking water.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PETROLEUM.
• Class „T“ Nitrile
Nitrile (color code orange). Temperature range –20°F to +180°F/–29°C to +82°C.
Recommended for petroleum products, air with oil vapors, vegetable and mineral oils
within the specified temperature range;
but not for hot air over +140°F/+60°C or for warm water over +150°F/+66°C.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR WARM WATER.
Screws/Nuts:
Made of heat-treated steel, carriage bolt meets the physical and chemical
requirements of ASTM A-449 and the physical requirements of ASTM A-183.
