rigid coupling, type 107N107N

rigid coupling, type 107N installation-ready >victaulic groove system<
Rigid coupling for steel pipes - QuickVic
Victaulic No. 107
These rigid couplings produce a rigid connection that does not permit any expansion,
contraction, or linear motion.
The couplings position the ends of the pipe so that a defined gap is created there that should be
taken into account during planning and assembly (see the table below).
Rigid couplings produce a rigid connection that is not desirable for riser cables, control rooms,
and other areas in which flexibility is not wanted.
With the patented rigid coupling of type 107, rolled or milled grooved pipes from 8”/50 – 200
can be connected.
The sizes 2-4”/50-100 mm can be used to connect 304/304L and 316/316L Schedule 10
Stainless steel pipes with a maximum operating pressure of 300 psi/2065 kPa are used.
The connection can be made without removing the screws, nuts, seal, and housing.
It is only necessary to apply lubricant to the seal lips before the coupling is pushed onto a pipe
with grooves according to the Victaulic specification.
Due to the beveled face fitting surfaces, the coupling of type 107 is designed for rigidity and
for nominal pressures up to 580 psi/4000 kPa depending on the thickness of the wall of the pipe.
The couplings of type 107 are rigid couplings that do not permit expansion, contraction,
or angular play.
Material specifications
Housing:
Cast iron according to ASTM A-536, Class 65-45-12.
Cast iron according to ASTM A-395, Class 65-45-15 is available on request.
Coating on the housing: Orange painted.
• Optional: Hot galvanized and others
Seal:
• Class „EHP“
EHP (colored red) Temperature range –30°F to +250°F/–34°C bis +121°C.
Recommended for warm water pipes in the specified temperature range as well as for a
series diluted acids, oil-free air, and many chemicals.
UL-approved according to ANSI/NSF 61 for cold (+86°F/+30°C) and warm (+180°F/+82°C)
drinking water.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PETROLEUM.
• Class „T“ Nitril
Nitrile (color code orange). Temperature range –20°F to +180°F/–29°C to +82°C.
Recommended for petroleum products, air with oil vapors, vegetable and mineral oils within
the specified temperature range; but not for hot air over +140°F/+60°C or for warm water
over +150°F/+66°C.
